Mary-Kay Leary, CPA, MST is a partner with Fitzpatrick, Leary & Szarko and the leader of the Firm’s tax department. She works closely with privately held businesses and their owners in various industries including technology, retail, manufacturing & distribution, and professional service firms, including legal and medical practices. Mary-Kay has more than 27 years of experience assisting businesses, organizations and individuals with tax planning and compliance, retirement and education planning, multi-state taxation issues, mergers & acquisitions, management advisory services, and family office services. In addition, she assists new businesses with start-up requirements, entity selection, business plans, accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.

Mary-Kay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Towson State University, and received a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Baltimore. Mary-Kay is an Adjunct Instructor of Accounting at Stevenson University and teaches tax related course material. Mary-Kay  is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  In 2012 Mary-Kay was recognized as one the top 50 CPAs in Maryland by SmartCEO Magazine.
